Snowfro

Erick Calderon, better known as Snowfro, is a generative artist, entrepreneur, and the founder of Art Blocks. Born in Mexico City and based in Houston, TX, he ran a ceramic tile company before his 3D-printed sculptures and video projection work led him to early onchain art. His Chromie Squiggles series is Art Blocks’s debut collection, a proof-of-concept that became an iconic artwork featured at Sotheby’s and exhibited at Venus Over Manhattan in New York.

Chromie Squiggle

Chromie Squiggles is the genesis collection of Art Blocks. Simple and iconic, its kaleidoscopic brushstrokes kickstarted the long-form generative art movement and laid out some of the format's key concepts. For instance, rarer color spectrums or line types command a significant premium among collectors. Each piece is animated and interactive: clicking toggles the color cycling, pressing the spacebar changes the background color, and the up/down arrows modulate the speed.

100 Untitled Spaces

100 Untitled Spaces, minted in person at Bright Moments Mexico City, is a small generative art collection combining two algorithms. The first generates a very simple color composition, and the second creates a unique architectural space to house it, inspired by the minimalist architect Luis Ramiro Barragán. The title references Donald Judd’s 100 untitled works in mill aluminum.

Bookends (Study)

Bookends (Study) is a PROOF 'Grails' release combining traditional ceramics and generative art. Its edition of 50 images features the same bright background, based on a previously unreleased algorithm from 2018, overlaid with a photograph of two pinch pots the artist created by hand. After mint, holders were able to claim physical bowls.

/// is a generative embroidery collection released as part of the Velocity Series, a collaboration between Oracle Red Bull Racing and Bybit. The super-minimal compositions recall the artist’s earlier Chromie Squiggles and were designed to be produced on a 15-thread embroidery machine without the need for retooling between outputs.

Friendship Bracelets

Friendship Bracelets was conceptualized by Art Blocks founder Erick Calderon (Snowfro) and programmatically designed by Alexis André

. Inspired by the simple, accessible materials often used by artist Donald Judd, each piece includes simple instructions to physically reproduce it with embroidery floss. This unusually large collection was initially distributed to all Art Block collectors in October 2022 as two free-to-claim mints—the artists’ hope was for collectors to share one with a friend.
